Yarraville Home | Techné

Let me show you around a beautiful family home designed by Techné Architects in Melbourne, Australia. The original Victorian era cottage has been skillfully married with the contemporary additions, including gorgeous artwork, furniture and homewares.

The repetition of the black and white chevron cushions along the window seat is striking. And the combination of pieces from some of my favourite Australian artists/designers is what initially drew me in - cushions from Ponyrider, and Lumiere Art + Co, and a painting by an absolute fav, Jessie Breakwell. Introducing a rug would make this space even better (in my humble opinion).

A gorgeous kid's room brings more colour and modern touches, complimenting the original, but updated fire place.

I'm a big fan of Aboriginal art - this piece looks stunning and bold from afar, and I just know, close up, the detail will be awesome.

The bathroom and kitchen are a reverse of the other rooms, with their white floors and dark walls. Sleek and modern with the use of beautiful materials, they are very impressive rooms.

The living and dining areas remind you of the fun found in the first rooms with pops of lively colour layered over a neutral base.

And the perfect place to relax is the concrete window seat overlooking the pool and garden area. What a fabulous home for raising a family and entertaining friends!

Here in Hawke's Bay we are very spoilt to have the amazing talent of Leanne and Brian Culy, and their shop, Homebase Collections, just around the corner.
