Inspiration from Bibby + Brady

Working with lovely clients and helping them create beautiful homes is so rewarding. This is what Dael & I do at Bibby + Brady. My favourite part is discovering the client's loves and quirks, expressing them in their rooms, and sourcing just the right products for them.

I absolutely love this dining room we've put together. The classic lines of the marble topped tulip table, teamed with some gorgeous vintage chairs from Mid Century Swag. Table top creations by Jonathan Adler and Minimalux. A stunning handblown glass and brass chandelier from Douglas and Bec. And the super cool surf artwork by Nathan Johnson of Blacklist Studio, which keeps the room from being too precious.

At Bibby + Brady we have broken our design process down into stages. Step 1 is to create a design concept board with paint colours, fabrics, furniture, and all the finishing touches. This comes complete with our design explanation. You can take this vision and run with it yourself, or carry on with Step 2.

This is where we give you a shopping list - where you can find all your items, and we pass on any designer discounts that are available to us. You also get a floor plan and sample card.

If you live locally, Step 3 involves Dael & I styling and putting your finished room together. But you don't have to live in Hawke's Bay, we are working incredibly well with several clients outside of Hawke's Bay via phone and email.

As a special offer to all my Cush & Nooks readers, Dael & I are offering Step 1 - a Design Concept Board - for the fantastic price of $149 per room. This is a limited offer, only available until the end of this month (March 2013). Let us help you create an amazing room that you'll love coming home to, and will be proud to share with others. Drop me an email and we'll get started.

WIN an Acapulco Chair!

Some of you may have noticed that a gorgeous range of coloured Acapulco chairs have flown into the Cush & Nooks shop. To celebrate their arrival I am giving away one pink Acapulco chair, worth $375, to one of you, my beautiful readers.

The Acapulco chair was born in the 1950's and is a Mexican symbol of retro and modern style. It is believed that a French tourist who was visiting Acapulco in the '50s was inspired by the open string construction of traditional Mayan hammocks, and designed the chair that would be suitable for the modern tropics.

These chairs are made from UV protected PE rattan and zinc plated powder coated steel. That's a bit of a mouthful, but it basically means that they are extremely durable, able to withstand all kinds of weather, and they are environmentally friendly. Perfect for outdoors, they look equally as stylish inside.

To go into the draw to win this pink beauty, I want you to email me and tell me what product/s you would like to see me stocking in the shop. I'm planning on introducing lots of new goodies, so your input would be fantastic. What do you love, but are having trouble sourcing? Share this post on your Facebook and/or Twitter pages, tag in Cush & Nooks, and you'll get another entry. I'll announce the winner next Friday 15 March on the blog and my Facebook page - good luck!. Sorry, entry only available to New Zealand readers.

Coast Giveaway

I have an absolutely fabulous giveaway on the blog today from Coast New Zealand. I am so excited to share it with you, and to tell you that this competition is open to all of my lovely New Zealand and Australian readers. And, by the way, Coast offer free shipping within NZ and Australia for all online orders. Let me start by telling you a bit about Coast...

Coast New Zealand was created in 2004 by Nicola and Alex Webster with the goal of establishing a luxury brand that would reflect New Zealand's unique quality of life. We Kiwis (as do you Aussies) love the outdoors, and because we are a tiny country surrounded by water, we all live very close to the sea. As beautiful and relaxing as our coast lines are, they can also be rugged and unforgiving. Coast makes sure that all their products are designed with a simple, timeless beauty. And because they only use top quality materials and construction methods, it means their products can withstand whatever Mother Nature throws at them.

Because we love to be outdoors, many of us are creating 'outdoors rooms' in our homes.
Our outdoor areas are becoming very much an extension of inside, often with seamless integration. Perfect for the outdoor room are the Coast products found in the Isla Collection. Think 'beanbag meets modular furniture'! Super stylish and comfy, and
the Sunbrella fabric is extremely hardwearing and durable.

Another way for us to stay outdoors a little bit longer is to wrap up warm. The Bendigo Woollen Blankets are lusciously thick and cosy, and a timeless addition to any home, batch or lodge. Wrap one around your shoulders, or throw over the end of your bed or sofa.

And the latest addition to Coast's collection is the gorgeous Mackenzie Throw made from 100% pure New Zealand wool. Meticulously hand woven they are lightweight and breathable while still being warm and super soft. Have a few of these on hand for your guests at your next barbecue, they'll love you for it.

To win your very own Mackenzie Throw worth $369, simply click here, subscribe to the Coast mailing list and tell them your favourite Mackenzie Throw colour. It's as easy as that, and what an awesome prize! I will announce the winner here on the blog and on my Facebook page next Monday 25th February. Good luck! x

Competition only open to New Zealand and Australian readers.

This competition is now closed. Congrats to our winner, Karly Ryder.
